My name is Rebecca Chavez. I am a mother of three adult children, grandmother of 12-year-old twin granddaughters, and a 5-year-old grandson. I am currently working as a Family Engagement Specialist under the CLSD Grant with Santa Rosa Consolidated Schools. I have been a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and Licensed Alcohol Drug Addictions Counselor (LADAC) for over 14 years. Prior to working with Santa Rosa Consolidated Schools, I worked with GEO Guadalupe County Correctional Facility for 13 years. After 13 years of a successful endeavor with corrections, I decided it was time for a change. I wanted to work with youth with my end goal being to put corrections out of business or to at least prevent more correctional facilities being built. I feel working with the child and family as a whole makes for a successful educational experience. As a licensed social worker, I have the passion and drive to advocate where and when it is needed. I look forward to working with our youth and assisting with any type of guidance necessary including but not limited to an encouraging text, home visit, and delivering/picking up assignments to prevent any type obstacles preventing a student to be successful. Thank you, I am looking forward to being a part of this new endeavor.
